Hmmm, chocolate!

Yes, I know it’s been quite awhile since I’ve posted anything…but this is totally worth sharing.

For those of you who knows my family, my girls and I LOVE CHOCOLATE!  Hot cocoa from Chicago, chocolate lava cakes my husband and I had in New York, truffles from Europe, basically any food that contains REAL cocoa.  The difficult part of loving chocolate is finding local places that sells affordable and authentic flavors that would not overpower their home made milk chocolate – and guess what?  We found one!!!

I would love for you to meet Zak and Mac’s , they are located in Frankenmuth Michigan where you can walk, regardless of the season, to visit Bavarian stores, indoor waterparks, all year-round Christmas store and of course some of Michigan’s well known Chicken dinner restaurants.

First off, their shop is very clean – definitely a plus when you and your little ones are consuming anything really.  As soon as you come in, you smell the gourmet chocolate covered toffee bars they make fresh almost every time we visit.  BONUS, their employees smile for photos and answer your chocolate questions very kindly and respectfully – unfortunately very rare nowadays.  The white, black and red themed store gives you a modern yet welcoming atmosphere.  Sometimes this place reminds me of the 1950’s retro kitchen I’ve been dying to have, while having the modern lines to cater to our Millennial generation 🙂 .  Their products are well organized and labeled to give you enough hint of what you’re about to taste and have, yummm!

Now let’s talk about the chocolate.  One thing I can guarantee, the chocolate does not taste like someone poured a bucket of sugar or corn syrup on your dessert – it is definitely the creamier type chocolate that melts in your mouth taste.  It’s also not sour nor powdery which we often find on inexpensive chocolate bars.  Their chocolate are more similar to a Japanese or European chocolate that are richer and smoother.  One of my newest favorite is called Bullet Bourbon, whisky & sea salt truffles.  It has the hint of alcohol taste you may look for as an adult distressing without straying away from the original milk chocolate you love when you were a child – I seriously feel like I’m salivating as I talk about this one.

So if I were you, before summer ends – walk around Frankenmuth, visit their shop and enjoy a mouth watering piece of Zak and Mac’s gourmet chocolate.
