If you have young children like I do, we tend to plan for vacations that doesn’t involve traveling for too long. Our favorite so far is visiting DISNEY WORLD.
STAYING ON BUDGET: When I call DISNEY, the first thing I tell them is that I have a strict budget, and I cannot afford to go beyond what we have saved for that year. My girls will be going on their 3rd trip to Disney, and on each trip we have stayed within our means. Always keep in mind that DISNEY wants you to visit. They will work with you from hotel reservations in a value resort to dinners that would sure make you gain weight while you’re in Florida. So keep that in mind, inform them how much you are willing to spend.
UNDERSTAND YOUR INTENTION: Some families like the hustle and bustle, we do not. If you feel the need to see every DISNEY character in the park, the best way to do it IS NOT TO SIT IN LINE. I would suggest spending a little more on Character Dining. You eat and enjoy your family time while each character visits your table. Plus most of the restaurant that offers character dining have very high standard on food and presentation. The only downfall about character dining is making reservations. You have to do it early during the year or you miss out on the best time slots.
Regarding rides, DISNEY offers Fast Passes. My children are still young, so we can only go on rides a few times a day – so the 3max Fast Pass is enough for us. Not only that, the rides they usually like (For example: Dumbo & It’s a small world) don’t get packed very often. The only important planning we have to accommodate is my children’s nap time. Believe me, when 2:00pm strikes they turn into Gremlins unless they take a nap and re-energize their brains 🙂 Understand your intention, did you go there to work or actually be on vacation?
KNOW YOUR DISNEY PERKS: Look there’s a lot of DISNEY VACATION BLOG, so I’m not going to spend too much time on this. But this is what I can tell you, take advantage of DISNEY PERKS.
- When staying in DISNEY RESORTS, you will not need to carry your luggage everywhere. It will be delivered to your hotel room immediately.
- Celebration pins are FREE!
- If you hate planning, guest services can plan your Fast Passes and reservations for you.
- Anything you buy from DISNEY STORES can be delivered to your hotel, you do not have to carry them everywhere.
- Learned from experience (I will talk about this in another blog), DISNEY HOSPITALS are AWESOME! They’re very quick and very accommodating for children.
- If you’re good to the Mouse Keepers, they will be good to you. You will never have to worry about having enough toiletries through out your stay.
There’s a lot more to say, but for now keep these three messages in mind if you ever go to DISNEY WORLD.
